Australian noise rock's Sydney chapter. Stu Spasm's Lubricated Goat set a benchmark for provocation that was hard to beat — Paddock of Love, album art that got the band banned from TV, a reputation that ran across three continents. Bloodloss came out of the same scene. Sydney DIY had its own ecosystem: Black Eye Records, the Hopetoun Hotel, a noise rock tradition tougher and drier than most of what was happening on the coasts in America.
