St. Louis is a small scene with a strong noise rock tradition. Mule was the Quarterstick-distributed standard-bearer — P.W. Long, Kevin Rutmanis (also Cows), Jim Kimball (also Laughing Hyenas). Midwest weirdness channeled through a lineup that could have been a noise rock supergroup anywhere else.
