Mac and Laura from Superchunk started a label in Durham and accidentally built an indie rock empire. Early days it was Polvo and Breadwinner, later on Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel showed up and suddenly Merge was everywhere. Still indie. Still Durham. Still great.
