Idles

2009–present·Bristol, UK

Bristol five-piece, Joe Talbot fronting a band that straddles post-punk, hardcore, and noise rock depending on the song. Brutalism in 2017 and Joy as an Act of Resistance in 2018 made them one of the unlikeliest big rock acts of the late 2010s. Tangk in 2024 is the softest record they'll probably ever make, which is still loud.

Joe Talbot
vocals

Idles' frontman. Writes post-punk anthems about toxic masculinity, immigration, grief, and self-care delivered in a Bristol shout that's somewhere between Mark E. Smith and a pub DJ. Polarizing in the UK press, beloved by basement show audiences.
